Oral history interview with Esta Heiber.

Later Esta got to be with her son again, then her and her husband adopted a girl they met in prison. I believe she helped a lot of children and many others, she and her husband did not hesitate to help those in need and did everything they could to help, and for that she is a great hero. I believe the reason she and her husband help so many children because they were influenced by the other people helping and trying to make a difference.

I think because Esta's family died in the ghetto she understands that what they were doing was not right and felt a strong desire to help those in need even if it meant it would be dangerous, but she couldn't sit around letting them kill innocent people and she stood up for what she believed in.
